1) Creating a range of basic jewellery design by hand, using CAD (Computer Aided Design) software
2) Produce a range of 3 dimensional (3D) jewellery designs that are practical for manufacturing
3) Provide detailed information regarding the dimensions, materials, manufacturing specifications, etc.
4) Understanding of the technical drawings of jewellery shapes
5) Knowledge of computers and software such as MS office, internet etc.
6) Knowledge of the different categories of jewellery e.g. rings, bracelets etc.
7) Knowledge of regional specialities of jewellery
8) Knowledge of the different types of diamonds and gemstones, colours, cuts, shapes
9) Knowledge of the different settings in jewellery
10) Understanding of design utility in terms of daily wear, occasional wear etc.
11) Ability to use drawing stationary and measuring tools such as pencil, eraser, scale, set squares, compass, different type of papers, tracing sheets, etc.
12) Ability to draw clear sketches, detailed drawings, illustrations, artwork, or blueprints, using drawing stationary
13) Ability to provide accurate information and data on the overall dimensions of diamonds and stones in terms of number, size and type
14) Ability to stay well informed and up to date on the latest software and design tools for jewellery
